Most people know me as a tarmac, circuit racer but my first love was riding on dirt. I think most of my success on tarmac came from the fact that I had a lot of feel and understanding of what was happening underneath me. All this came from spending so much of my childhood riding on dirt a skill once mastered you never lose.
I’ve been lucky enough to experience what Aidan Collins does up at the ride it and skid it school up in Buxton he teaches what I call the fundamentals of riding on dirt. He has a real natural and easy to understand way of teaching the technical aspects of sliding a bike. I can’t recommend his school enough if you want to learn how to control a motorcycle better there’s not a more cost affective way then to pay a visit up there.
